Following our successful Alberta demonstration tour, the Ag Drones and AgTek360 team continued across Western Canada, travelling to Manitoba on September 22–23 to give growers, agronomists and agricultural professionals a firsthand look at the EAVISION J150 agricultural drone in action.

The Manitoba agricultural drone demonstrations included stops in Grande Pointe, Rosenort and the Wawanesa/Brandon area. Attendees had the opportunity to see the J150 up close and in flight, ask questions and talk with our team about how agricultural drone technology may fit into their farming operations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the two days and to Patterson Farms, Hiebert Farms and Green Acres Colony Wawanesa for helping make the Manitoba demonstrations possible.

Manitoba Agricultural Drone Demonstrations Bring the J150 to the Field

Live demonstrations provide something specifications, photos and videos can’t: the opportunity to see an agricultural drone operating in a real farm environment.

During the Manitoba tour, attendees were introduced to the EAVISION J150 and had an opportunity to see the equipment, field setup and drone in operation. The demonstrations also provided time for conversations about the practical considerations involved in adding drone technology to a farming or custom application operation.

For growers evaluating agricultural drones, questions often go beyond flight performance. Transportation, setup, loading, batteries, application planning, training, maintenance and support are all part of the complete operating system.

Our Manitoba tour began September 22 at Patterson Farms in Grande Pointe. Attendees gathered in the field for a closer look at the J150 and an opportunity to see the agricultural drone in flight.

Seeing the EAVISION J150 in Action

The J150 is designed for large-scale agricultural applications, but seeing the drone in person helps put its size, operating workflow and potential applications into perspective.

The Manitoba demonstrations allowed attendees to get close to the aircraft before watching it operate in the field. Just as importantly, they created an opportunity to ask questions about where a drone may complement existing application equipment.

Agricultural drones can offer another application option when field access is difficult, application timing is tight or avoiding wheel traffic through a crop is important. Every farm and application is different, however, and factors such as crop, field conditions, product labels, regulations and operational requirements need to be considered when determining where drone application fits.

The tour continued September 23 at Hiebert Farms in the Rosenort area. The morning began with conversation around the farm shop before moving outside to see the J150 and field setup firsthand.

Connecting Application Technology With Crop Information

The Manitoba events also gave the AgTek360 team an opportunity to introduce attendees to the broader role that field information can play in agronomic decision-making.

The Leaftech Scanner was on site as part of the field setup. The Leaftech scanner provides rapid, in-field plant tissue analysis that can help agronomists and growers better understand crop nutrient status and make informed decisions.

That connection between crop information and application technology is an important part of the Ag Drones approach: analyze what is happening in the field, make an informed recommendation, apply with the appropriate technology and measure the results. Wawanesa / Brandon Area, Manitoba

We wrapped up our Manitoba demonstration tour in the Wawanesa area, where growers had another opportunity to see the EAVISION agricultural spray drone in action.

The demonstration gave attendees a closer look at the drone’s capabilities and how agricultural drones can fit into real-world farming operations, from crop protection and foliar applications to working in fields where ground equipment may not be the best option.

Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout Manitoba and to our hosts for helping make the demonstrations possible.

Why Real-World Agricultural Drone Demonstrations Matter

For growers considering agricultural drone technology, a field demonstration can answer questions that are difficult to address through specifications alone.

Seeing the aircraft in person provides a better understanding of its physical size, transportation requirements, field setup and operating workflow. Watching it fly also gives attendees a much clearer picture of how drone application could fit alongside equipment and practices already being used on their farms.

Just as importantly, demonstrations create conversations. Growers can discuss their own fields, crops and application challenges with the team and explore where drone technology may—or may not—be a practical fit.

Thank You, Manitoba

Thank you to everyone who attended one of our Manitoba agricultural drone demonstrations, asked questions and spent time with our team.

We would also like to thank Patterson Farms, Hiebert Farms and Green Acres Colony Wawanesa for hosting the demonstrations and helping us bring agricultural drone technology directly to Manitoba growers.

Our demonstration tour continues across Western Canada as we work to give more growers the opportunity to experience EAVISION agricultural drone technology in real-world farming conditions.
